
Suzanne Pleshette, born 31 January 1937 and died 19 January 2008 was an American film theatre, television, and voice actress. Pleshette began her stage career, and she appeared in films towards the end of the 1950s. Later, she appeared in prominent films such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), or Spirited Away (192001). She later appeared in various television productions, mainly in guest roles. She also she was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978. She received a number of Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette is the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1 and Eugene Pleshette, was born on the 31st of January 1937 in Brooklyn Heights. The parents of her were Jewish, the children of immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was a dancer and artist who performed on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage director in both the Paramount Theater and the Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
