
Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27, 1976. He was born in the southern part of California. He attended Huntington Beach High School and was a star football and basketball player. Gonzalez was a star in these sports at University of California, Berkeley. He led the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, Gonzalez set the school bowl record of nine receptions. A few months later Gonzalez played with the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Then he quit school to participate in the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall selection. Gonzalez was a player with the Chiefs from 1997 until the year 2008. The Chiefs dealt Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. After Gonzalez's first NFL year, he was able to catch more than 59 passes per season.
